Soundwave Recap

Christine — Fri, 26 Feb 2010 04:01:41 +0000

Sunday 21st Feb meant 2 things – my 21st birthday, and Soundwave!

Being my birthday, there was no way I was going to work, but I did go to Soundwave as a fan, armed with a point and shoot!

It was great fun going to events with a punter point of view for once!

Then on Tuesday 23rd I went down to Luna Park’s Big Top to shoot AFI. It was quite wierd seeing Davey Havok dress like a man! (with red nail polish of course)

The next night I then headed down to The Metro to shoot Escape The Fate. I’ll admit it wasn’t my best gig, but there’s another band I can say I photographed!

The Mars Volta @ Hordern Pavillion

Christine — Thu, 21 Jan 2010 04:41:02 +0000

This is by no means a great shoot for me, there was an insane photo policy and half of the 5 mins we got were darkness. We weren’t even in the pit for an entire song. It was wierd. I guess this is the best of a bad bunch.

Mika @ Enmore Theatre

Christine — Wed, 25 Nov 2009 00:21:10 +0000

Oh my goodness. This guy is amazing. He’s a maniac. He never keeps still (except to play the keyboard, and then he’s still crazy). I’d shoot him again and again if given the opportunity.

I spent all of yesterday feeling sick and sorry for myself, thanks to the erratic weather Sydney’s been copping. By night I was still having dizzy spells but I knew I had to get to Enmore for this gig. It was so worth it. If I wasn’t sick I probably would have nailed more action shots, but I still managed to capture hundreds of memories from such an amazing night.

Mest @ Mannig Bar

Christine — Tue, 17 Nov 2009 15:56:18 +0000

Mest are one of those bands that I never thought I’d end up seeing, considering they broke up a few years ago.
Sure the lineup has changed a little but I still can’t believe that I’ve heard their songs live.
You can see more photos here.

Kisschasy @ UNSW Roundhouse

Having just come home from Canberra, I was met with Torrential rain, and Kisschasy.

60 Days down on Project 365

Christine — Sun, 30 Aug 2009 05:28:56 +0000

It’s hard to believe, but I’m 60 days down in Project 365. It’s a simple idea – take a photo everyday for a year. Sounds simple enough, but it’s really pushing me to explore more and more ideas. Here is a slideshow of the pictures so far, but you can also see them here.

Like OMG I Went and shot a gig!

Christine — Sat, 18 Jul 2009 12:15:42 +0000

Wow it’s been so long since I photographed a gig, it’s been a well needed break which allowed me to learn many other aspects of photography.

So here it is, After The Fall @ Oxford Art Factory, supported by The Smoke and Here Come The Birds.

Blast from the Past

Christine — Wed, 15 Jul 2009 11:42:49 +0000

I was looking through backup drives, and found this photo of Kisschasy. I’m fond of this picture because it was taken in the first week of me owning an SLR. I’ll always be fond of my Nikon D40x, great little camera there.

Counting Crows @ Big Top

Christine — Fri, 03 Apr 2009 13:34:40 +0000

Over the week, Counting Crows were in the country to support The Who. They also played a sideshow at the Luna Park Big Top.

Rise Against @ Hordern Pavillion

US punk rockers play to a sold out Hordern Pavillion crowd, with support from The (International) Noise Conspiracy
