An African Sunset

This image was created today as I was trying to recover from the flu.

I’ve named this piece “Days End” and uploaded it to my digital art gallery.

Planet of Lights

We all live in a world of consumerism and transnational corporations.

Perhaps this is what our planet will one day look like from the outer space.

TV Aquarium

These goldfish were irresponsibly thrown into this television.
They wanted nothing to do with it, so they forced their way out.
This has been added to my digital art gallery.

Orb of Desolation

I’ve spent the past few hours working on this representation of a mental wave explosion.

This is by far the hardest I’ve worked on an image in the recent past.

It’s been added to my photomanipulation folder.

CoolHwip

Even Stewie Griffin would be proud of this.

I was messing with textures and brushes in Photoshop, and made cool water colour effects.

Getaway Plan iTunes Ad

So I spent the last 3 or so hours staring at Photoshop working on this image in the same style as the new Coldplay/iTunes ads.

Here is what the original ad looks like.

Webcam in a cube?

I made this little application in Processing where a webcam’s video goes on all 6 faces on a cube. What’s more is that you can drag the cube in any direction you want to rotate it and see other faces on the cube!

I don’t know why the video isn’t how it comes out of the webcam, probably during the conversion between DirectX and QuickTime formats for the Java based program that Processing is.

If you want to play with a similar toy, I’ve uploaded a similar one but with an image on the cube. That’s online for everyone to play with until I finish the one I’m working on.

EDIT: I managed to get it to work properly on another computer.

Parachuting Gummi Bears

For the third night in a row, I’ve stayed up till 5am or beyond.

Tonight I was agonisingly working out Processing.

While I was eating Gummi bears, I decided to stick some to my monitor and take a photo, which I later drew on in Photoshop.

Here’s what I’ve come up with, I’ve named it “Sweet Descent

Gallery overhaul

Now I’m supposed to be writing this 15 page report that’s due tomorrow, but I decided that my gallery needed an overhaul, so I’ve been working on that for the past while!

We made a Multitouch Pad from a cardboard box!

I made this last week in conjunction with my Advanced Interactive Multimedia Design class, comparing how a simple multitouch pad compared with other more advanced systems of a similar nature.

Items needed:

  • Computer
  • Webcam
  • Cardboard box
  • White paper
  • Large hard clear surface (eg. clear clipboard)
  • Software (available here)

Here are some still images
