Polaroids Will Strangely Develop in Salt Water

Christine — Sun, 29 Nov 2009 05:53:25 +0000

If I learned anything from going up to the Central Coast the other week, it’s that polaroids can survive being dropped in salt water.
I took this photo, and droped it into the water straight away, so I took another one.
This one strangely developed better!

Sculpture by the Sea

Christine — Sun, 15 Nov 2009 16:15:14 +0000

The Sculpture By The Sea exhibition in Sydney and Perth is Australia’s largest annual outdoor sculpture exhibition. This exhibition was initiated in 1996, at Bondi Beach and it featured sculptures which were made by both Australian and overseas artists.

Because I shot most of the day in film, it will take me a while to get all the film developed, but here are some samples I’ve taken with different cameras. You can see more here.

For my well deserved mid-semester break, Marky and I spent a few days in Canberra. The main attractions we visited were Floriade, Parliament House and Questacon.

60 Days down on Project 365

Christine — Sun, 30 Aug 2009 05:28:56 +0000

It’s hard to believe, but I’m 60 days down in Project 365. It’s a simple idea – take a photo everyday for a year. Sounds simple enough, but it’s really pushing me to explore more and more ideas. Here is a slideshow of the pictures so far, but you can also see them here.

A Photo a Day

Christine — Wed, 01 Jul 2009 13:48:03 +0000

Today I decided to start a new photographic project where I take a photo everyday of the year. This is mainly just for me to keep interest in photography and to see what I can achieve in a year.
You can check back on the project at christinelam.com/365
This is the first picture, taken in an alleyway in the Sydney CBD.

It’s Autumn!

Christine — Wed, 18 Mar 2009 08:00:18 +0000

I was having a really busy week and I was feeling a little under the weather, so I went out and took a few pictures in my area to de-stress.

De-Magnification

Christine — Thu, 22 Jan 2009 10:54:33 +0000

I was sitting in the main quad of Sydney Uni the other day waiting for a gig to start, and I started playing with a fish-eye attachment.

Look at all the Pretty Flowers!

Christine — Sun, 14 Dec 2008 12:25:14 +0000

So this week I’ve taken pictures of Billy Joel, as well as a portrait of Marky and a whole lot of conceptual images with filters I made myself. But I felt I had more in me, so I went and photographed flowers and insects in my local area, as well as Marky’s.

I went for a leisurely stroll through the Botanic gardens the other evening, armed with a camera.

An African Sunset

Christine — Fri, 25 Jul 2008 14:18:15 +0000

This image was created today as I was trying to recover from the flu.

I’ve named this piece “Days End” and uploaded it to my digital art gallery.
