Photographing without a Subject

Christine — Sun, 07 Feb 2010 10:41:31 +0000

Over the past few days I’ve been experimenting with different long exposure techniques. I’ve wired up some LED toys and played with kinetic photography. Here are some of the results.

Bokehlicious!

Christine — Sun, 24 Jan 2010 12:32:28 +0000

Late last year, I bought a whole bunch of fairy lights. Most people only have them out for a few weeks around Christmas, but I quite enjoy having them out all year round as a bokeh machine. Here are some of the shots:

Happy New Year

Christine — Fri, 01 Jan 2010 06:09:22 +0000

I hope 2009 was fulfilling for everyone in 2009, and hope that 2010 turns out to be an even more incredible year. This is how I welcomed 2010, in Milsons Point, Sydney.

It’s Almost Christmas!

Christine — Fri, 18 Dec 2009 13:39:19 +0000

Can you believe it?
Only a week till Christmas!
I can’t believe how fast another year has gone by….

To get into the spirit of the festive season, I’ve taken a few Christmas themed photos.
Here are some of my favourites. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view.

60 Days down on Project 365

Christine — Sun, 30 Aug 2009 05:28:56 +0000

It’s hard to believe, but I’m 60 days down in Project 365. It’s a simple idea – take a photo everyday for a year. Sounds simple enough, but it’s really pushing me to explore more and more ideas. Here is a slideshow of the pictures so far, but you can also see them here.

A Photo a Day

Christine — Wed, 01 Jul 2009 13:48:03 +0000

Today I decided to start a new photographic project where I take a photo everyday of the year. This is mainly just for me to keep interest in photography and to see what I can achieve in a year.
You can check back on the project at christinelam.com/365
This is the first picture, taken in an alleyway in the Sydney CBD.

I went down to The Rocks last night to catch a small glimpse of Vivid Sydney, which involved many light displays around Circular Quay and The Rocks. I’ll be back a few times in the next few weeks to capture more of the works.
Here’s a few of the ones I saw.

This week I decided that I should go to the Easter show on the first day, and this is how I saw the show.
