60 Days down on Project 365

It’s hard to believe, but I’m 60 days down in Project 365. It’s a simple idea – take a photo everyday for a year. Sounds simple enough, but it’s really pushing me to explore more and more ideas. Here is a slideshow of the pictures so far, but you can also see them here.

Blast from the Past

I was looking through backup drives, and found this photo of Kisschasy. I’m fond of this picture because it was taken in the first week of me owning an SLR. I’ll always be fond of my Nikon D40x, great little camera there.

Bewitched Bananas

This is what happens when you’re so hungry in your sleep that you dream of having banana cake.
This is my first stop motion animation so it’s a little sketchy, but I’m still happy with it. It took about 4-5 hrs to shoot and another 2 months to edit.
So enjoy!

Splitting Image

This is part of a fun little website I’m creating for uni with rollovers and animations and all the like.
It’s still a work in progress, but feel free to have a look at it thus far.

Mixed Media Major Work

For the past few weeks I’ve been digging through archives worth of magazines, childrens books and encyclopedias to complete my Mixed Media major work.
What I did was collect cartoons and other non-photographic images from anywhere I could, and arranged them in onto old book covers.
At first I had a very childish theme, but then I [...]

Fractals

Just a few grammars that I created to generate fractal looking images and videos.
Grammars were made in Context Free and then rendered using a randomiser code in Processing.

Some Traditional Art

I’ve started a new semester in uni and this semester I’ve chosen to go back to my roots and study practical art courses.
I’ve created a few pieces in Mixed Media

Taronga Zoo

Yesterday I ventured to Taronga Zoo with Gaven and Cameron from Sydney Uni’s Photosoc.
We spent a good couple of hours snapping away at what the zoo had to offer.

Webcam in a Cube

I made this little application in Processing where a webcam’s video goes on all 6 faces on a cube. What’s more is that you can drag the cube in any direction you want to rotate it and see other faces on the cube!

I don’t know why the video isn’t how it comes out of the [...]

We made a Multitouch Pad from a Cardboard Box!

I made this last week in conjunction with my Advanced Interactive Multimedia Design class, comparing how a simple multitouch pad compared with other more advanced systems of a similar nature.

Items needed:

Computer
Webcam
Cardboard box
White paper
Large hard clear surface (eg. clear clipboard)
