Soundwave Recap

Sunday 21st Feb meant 2 things – my 21st birthday, and Soundwave!
Being my birthday, there was no way I was going to work, but I did go to Soundwave as a fan, armed with a point and shoot!
It was great fun going to events with a punter point of view for once!

Then on Tuesday 23rd [...]

Photographing without a Subject

Over the past few days I’ve been experimenting with different long exposure techniques. I’ve wired up some LED toys and played with kinetic photography. Here are some of the results.

Bokehlicious!

Late last year, I bought a whole bunch of fairy lights. Most people only have them out for a few weeks around Christmas, but I quite enjoy having them out all year round as a bokeh machine. Here are some of the shots:

You can see more of my bokeh shots here.

The Mars Volta @ Hordern Pavillion

This is by no means a great shoot for me, there was an insane photo policy and half of the 5 mins we got were darkness. We weren’t even in the pit for an entire song. It was wierd. I guess this is the best of a bad bunch.

Diana F+

For Christmas, my amazing Marky got me a Lomography Diana F+.
I was skeptical of getting on as I already have a Holga, but in the past week I’ve grown to love the Diana, and its dream-like photos.
Here are a few pictures from the first roll, at the beach. Click here for more of my Diana [...]

Happy New Year

I hope 2009 was fulfilling for everyone in 2009, and hope that 2010 turns out to be an even more incredible year. This is how I welcomed 2010, in Milsons Point, Sydney.

It’s Almost Christmas!

Can you believe it?
Only a week till Christmas!
I can’t believe how fast another year has gone by….
To get into the spirit of the festive season, I’ve taken a few Christmas themed photos.
Here are some of my favourites. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view.

Long Exposures

Anyone who has been following my photography over the past 6 months or so would know that I’m addicted to long exposures. Today, I made myself a few new LED toys, and I’m sure I’ll be using them in the next few days.
I think I enjoy light painting because it’s a more arty form of [...]

Polaroids Will Strangely Develop in Salt Water

If I learned anything from going up to the Central Coast the other week, it’s that polaroids can survive being dropped in salt water.
I took this photo, and droped it into the water straight away, so I took another one.
This one strangely developed better!

Mika @ Enmore Theatre

Oh my goodness. This guy is amazing. He’s a maniac. He never keeps still (except to play the keyboard, and then he’s still crazy). I’d shoot him again and again if given the opportunity.
I spent all of yesterday feeling sick and sorry for myself, thanks to the erratic weather Sydney’s been copping. By night I [...]
